New Zealand’s capital city abounds with culture and the arts and so is a popular tourist destination and one of the biggest cities in the North Island. It is also host to the Wellington Rugby Team, the Hurricanes, and is said to have more bars and restaurants per capita than New York. Due to the regions beautiful scenery, the famous Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogies were all filmed in locations in and around Wellington City and this is also where Peter Jackson’s successful Weta Workshop is. Tourists and locals can take a historic trip on the Cable Car around the Botanic Gardens and down to Parliament House and the Beehive, with a visit to Te Papa Museum also a must.
