Well known for his colourful identity as The Rainmaker Rain Diao joined Maguires One Team in early 2020. Growing up in China in a property development family, Rain came to New Zealand as a teenager and is multilingual in English, Mandarin, Cantonese and Hakkanese – a useful skill when dealing with a diversity of clients. Rain has a BCA from Auckland University and after graduating worked for almost four years as a Chartered accountant for Fletcher Building Products in the Laminex Group.

The gregarious Rain is passionate about his work and connects with people quickly, establishing rapport. This has engendered huge loyalty and trust with a high degree of repeat and referral business from those he deals with.

His real estate career is punctuated with achievement and results borne out of excellent negotiating expertise, a courage to push the envelope in his marketing campaigns and a great love of people. His former work as an accountant also comes in handy when a real estate deal requires analytical skills and a focus on the details of process and compliance.

With a young family, Rain loves being a Dad and involves himself in local community initiatives that enhance the residents’ lifestyle. He would welcome more time to play golf but his busy schedule with real estate and family makes this a challenge for now.
