From guiding tourists in the Australian outback to property development in New Zealand, Grant brings a world of experience to the property market in the top of the south, as the owner of Tall Poppy Picton and Marlborough Sounds and Tall Poppy Nelson Tasman.

Grant’s love for the outdoors led him to working and living in Japan, American and Australia for many years, chasing thrills and spills on ski slopes and wildlife and hidden treasures in the Australian outback.

Now, based in the Marlborough Sounds and working closely with his teams around the top of the south, he’s excited to combine his love for the outdoors with his property expertise

I’ve spent a significant amount of time guiding tourists in the remote Kimberly region of Western Australia and also the remote regions of Kakadu/Arnhem Land near Darwin, living in a swag, cooking on a camp fire every night and exploring vast tracts of land.

But coming home to New Zealand and revisiting all the places I explored as a kid growing up - Abel Tasman National Park, the Marlborough Sounds, the glorious beaches and campgrounds in Golden Bay, the vast and inspiring Kahurangi National Park and the rugged Richmond Ranges - I knew there was nowhere else in the world I’d rather live and work.

As a franchise owner, Grant gets the best of both worlds, he says.

On any given day I can come across a pod of dolphins when I’m out showing a client a home and will often begin the day watching the sunrise on my jetty.
