Helping you move on

Positive, outgoing and forthright, Karen’s no nonsense, grounded approach to life and people is refreshing. High on common sense and big on humour, Karen’s journey to becoming part of the UP team is the result of her being a UP Client both as a buyer and seller. It is also a result of the relationship built with her over the years she was responsible for the Herald Homes section of the The New Zealand Herald. As a result, she has had the unique experience of the real estate industry from a supplier side and personally as a seller and buyer.

Needless to say we embraced her transition to become a member of our real estate team. Karen has a focussed, tenacious approach to everything she does. Warm, passionate and pragmatic, Karen is also compassionate at a very human level. These attributes have seen her succeed with satisfied clients using phrases that include “incredibly responsive and accommodating”. “Karen’s positive personality was extremely reassuring” “great service, nothing too much trouble” “ extremely knowledgeable, personable and professional” “she will treat you as much more than just another listing” “I’ve never seen such efficiency in getting a property ready for listing in about three days, yet not one corner was cut”.

Karen was born in Wellington, educated in Wanganui, with qualifications from the Graduate School of New South Wales (logistics management) and Auckland University (post grad diploma in entrepreneurship). She moved to Auckland’s eastern suburbs 30 years ago and has lived in most of its beautiful suburbs.

Karen’s commercial background has been over NZ, Australia and Asia. Most often leading teams or undertaking the “too-hard” projects for companies that needed creative thinking, a different approach, strong negotiation and problem solving to find that way that was deemed to be impossible.

If you are making a property decision, I would love to have a chat over coffee – my shout!!!!
